SIR CLIVE SINCLAIR

THANK YOU, CLIVE!

Sir Clive Sinclair passed away on September 16, 2021, at the age of 81.

It is impossible to list all the achievements of the British inventor in one sentence – from electronic watches, through calculators, portable TV sets, to microcomputers that took over all of Europe, spread far east and became an unwritten standard in the world of games and among home programmers.

The list of Sinclair’s inventions also includes the C5 – the distant ancestor of three-track electric vehicles, the Cambridge Z88 student computer, the underrated QL, but there is one slogan that probably all of us know: ZX Spectrum.

A great visionary led computers to the thatched roofs, also of those less affluent Europeans. The Americans had a chance to encounter the ZX Spectrum clones created by Timex Computers, the Russians – mainly due to their clones – Scorpion, Pentagon and hundreds of other models replicating the Sinclair computer, which is brilliant in its simplicity.

AS PART OF THE PIXEL HEAVEN 2021 GAMES FESTIVAL, SEVERAL EVENTS WILL BE HELD IN CONNECTION WITH THE SIR CLIVE AND HIS GREAT HISTORY!

The event will be graced by two Special Guests: Crispin and Grant Sinclair. Son and cousin of Sir Clive Sinclair will come to Warsaw.
Both will perform on Saturday, October 9 at 3 p.m. at the Elektronik Cinema in a conversation about the achievements of the creator of ZX Spectrum and his legacy. This will be the first such meeting and conversation with the representatives of the immediate family and co-workers after the outstanding British inventor and visionary passed away.
